It’s not about Lance

Did he or didn’t he?
That is not the question.

At least not for Beat the Clock and Help Beat Cancer. This blog has refrained from commenting on the story as it has been unfolding because it’s not about Lance. It’s about raising money, awareness, and people’s spirits. It’s about working together to help people beat this terrible disease. It’s not about Lance, though the foundation would not be there without him. It is about the fight, the strength in knowledge and the power of unity.

Lance Armstrong is the founder and was the public face of Livestrong, but just because Lance’s integrity is currently being questioned that doesn’t mean that the same should happen with Livestrong. As a non-profit organization, Livestrong’s finances and operations are a matter of public record, and if you are having doubts, we encourage you to find out for yourself what Livestrong has accomplished. The charity has helped thousands of victims navigate through the nightmare that is called cancer, and we hope it will continue to do so until the disease has been eradicated.

Beat the Clock will be back in 2013 with our time trial series and we hope that we can count on your continued support. Let’s keep raising money, awareness, and all our spirits!
